Michael Schaffer
Commercial Real Estate and CEO of Hotel Operations
 Michael
holds a BA degree from Yale University and a MBA degree from Harvard
Business School. He has been actively involved in the business for
over 17 years, as CEO of Hotel Operations, Manager for Block 235
Development Associates, LLC, and directs leasing operations. Prior to joining the business, Michael
had extensive banking experience as Senior Vice President at both
Bank of New England and Bank of Boston. His expertise in the banking
industry ranges from Marketing, Loan Workouts, to Commercial and
Real Estate Management responsibilities. During Ella Grasso’s
Administration, Michael served as Executive Aide to the Commissioner
of Public Works with responsibilities over the State’s property
management and construction programs. He also holds a Connecticut
Real Estate license. Actively involved in community organizations,
Michael served as Chair of the New Haven Development Commission,
Convention & Visitors Bureau, Downtown Special Services District,
Neighborhood Music School, Co-Chair of the Capital Campaign Jewish
Community Center, and Chair, United Way Campaign, 1999. Michael
presently sits on the Boards of the Chamber of Commerce, Long Wharf
Theatre, Science Park, First Community Bank and Chairs the Board of
the Yale Club of New Haven.
